Welcome to La Colmena!
We are excited that you're interested in being part of our educational community. Although we haven't started our classes yet, we want to offer you valuable resources as you prepare for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.

Enrollment Process

To ensure a smooth enrollment process, please follow these steps:

  1. Complete the Student Registration Form

  2. Complete the Registration and Fee Payment Agreement

  3. Provide the Certificate of Immunizations

 

In addition, please include the non-refundable Registration and Material Fee of $200, payable by cash or check. If paying by check, please make it payable to La Colmena Early Learning in Spanish LLC.

You may return all forms and payment by mail or in person at our facilities.

What is the educational approach at La Colmena? Our program focuses on Spanish language immersion and Project-Based Learning (PBL). Children engage in hands-on, inquiry-based learning, which encourages curiosity and creativity, all while being immersed in the Spanish language.​

Do you have cultural events or special celebrations? Yes, we celebrate cultural events and special occasions throughout the school year. These celebrations are an integral part of our curriculum, helping children learn about different cultures, traditions, and the importance of community. We celebrate holidays, seasonal events, and milestones in a way that fosters inclusion and respect for diversity.

What are the school hours? The regular school day runs from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM for half-day options and 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM for full-day options. We also offer an early arrival option starting at 8:00 AM at no additional fee, as well as extended hours after school until 5:30 PM for an additional fee. For more details, please refer to the ​2025-2026 Tuition Schedule Form at the bottom.

How many students are in each classroom? At La Colmena, we prioritize individualized attention and a high-quality educational experience. Our small, close-knit environment ensures a low teacher-to-student ratio. Our school accommodates up to 16 students, with 1 teacher and 1 assistant to provide personalized attention and create a nurturing learning environment.

Is there a dress code? Yes, we have a dress code. Our students wear uniforms with navy blue bottoms and yellow polo tops. We suggest uniforms because they help create a sense of unity, equality, and focus in the classroom. Uniforms also simplify the morning routine for both students and parents. They are affordable and easy to find in general retail stores.

What is the cost of the program? Our tuition fees vary depending on the program and schedule you select. For more detailed information on tuition rates, please refer to the 2025-2026 Tuition Schedule Form at the bottom.

Is there an after-school program? Yes, we offer after-school care for families who need extended hours. The after-school program runs from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, and is available for an additional fee. Activities include art, games, and enrichment projects.

When does the 2025-2026 school year begin? We follow the Beaverton School District (BSD) calendar. Classes will start on August 26th, and will end on June 11th, 2026.

What are the important holidays during the school year? Some of the holidays during the 2025-2026 school year include: Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Winter Break, Spring Break, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, and Staff Training (TBD).

Do you have a summer program? Yes, we offer a summer program. Our summer program provides an opportunity for continued learning, fun activities, and exploration during the summer months. More details will be available as we approach the summer season.

Are meals provided at school? Yes, we provide two nutritious snacks during the school day. Parents are encouraged to send a healthy lunch if their child will need one. We aim to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies—please let us know if your child has specific needs.
